Upgrading traditional pipe bending machines to CNC automatic pipe bending machines

Due to excessive competition and severe product homogenization, profit margins are narrow, which also limits the development of many enterprises. So, how to obtain an automatic pipe bending machine with less investment is a problem worth discussing. Can you upgrade the original machine tool without buying an automatic pipe bending machine? The answer is yes. The upgrade experience in the past few years has shown us that this is very promising, not only with good practical performance and short cycles, but also can save a lot of money.
What type of machine tool is suitable for CNC upgrading and remanufacturing? Experience has proven that the upgrading of vertical and horizontal lathes (especially large vertical and horizontal lathes), gantry milling to CNC gantry milling, gantry planing to CNC gantry milling, horizontal boring and milling machines to CNC horizontal boring and milling machines, and vertical horizontal grinding machines to CNC grinding machines have more ideal transformation effects.
Upgrading CNC requires redesigning and manufacturing the mechanical components of the machine tool to meet the requirements of CNC. Simply adding servo motors and CNC systems cannot achieve the goal of upgrading, so the following work usually needs to be done:
Replace the original trapezoidal lead screw with a ball screw to improve accuracy, reduce friction, grinding, and scraping of the guide rail. Apply plastic or directly refine the spindle system with a linear rolling guide rail to improve spindle accuracy. Design an automatic cooling and chip removal system, and if necessary, add a tool changing mechanism - a tool magazine manipulator to design and manufacture an automatic lubrication system.
During the renovation process, the CNC system and servo system should be determined and selected. The more functions a CNC system has, the better. Systems with more functions are usually more expensive. Select domestic and imported systems as needed. At present, there is still a gap between domestic systems and imported systems, and it is generally better to choose imported systems for large high-precision equipment. But in recent years, the domestic system has made great progress and can reliably use ordinary lathes and milling machines. AC servo motors are the choice for servo motors.
